Infant Program
Children ages six weeks through one year are enrolled in our Infant Program. Caregivers provide a stimulating environment for infants through active exploration and interaction with adults and other children. A caregiver to infant ratio of 1:4 is maintained at all times.
Yearling Program
The Yearling program is designed to meet the needs of one-year olds by providing excellent individualized care and appropriate activities and materials to help promote growth in the areas of motor, social, language, and cognitive development. The caregiver to child ratio is 1:4.

Toddler
To meet the diverse developmental needs of two-year olds, the toddlers are divided into two separate programs - Young Toddlers and Toddlers. The children are involved in a variety of stimulating experiences to encourage socialization and independence. Their day is comprised of circle time, art projects, music and movement, and free play time. Both programs maintain a teacher to child ratio of 1:5.
Pre-School Program
In the Pre-School program, three-year olds learn through both indoor and outdoor play, using circle time, small manipulatives, dramatic play, and art. All children in the Pre-School program must be toilet trained. A teacher to child ratio of 1:8 is maintained.
Pre-K Program
In the Pre-K Program, the children, ages 4-5, learn through play as they explore and experiment with various materials. The teachers act as guides and facilitators as art, blocks, math, computers, science, language arts, and music and movement are implemented into the curriculum. Our program is aligned with the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards which reflect early childhood educators' strong belief in the important role of play in how children learn. The teacher to child ratio is 1:10.
School-Age Program (1st-4th Grade)
We offer a safe, interesting, and fun environment to come to before and after school. In a structured yet informal environment, children can choose from a variety of activities - quiet time, homework, arts and crafts, recreation (inside and outside), or just being with friends. The town provides bus transportation to and from each of Portsmouth's public elementary schools to our parking lot where the children are escorted into the building by our staff.
K-Enrichment Program
Kindergarten enrichment is offered as an extension to Portsmouth Public Schools' half-day program. We have created a balanced environment of structured and non-structured time to complement, but not duplicate, the public kindergarten program. The children are involved in a wide variety of stimulating and creative experiences.
Outdoor Play
Our two outdoor playgrounds are age-divided to offer a wide range of gross and fine motor development while encouraging imagination. The outdoor environment is sufficiently varied to allow children to engage in many forms of cognitive play (exercise, games with rules, etc.) and to develop social skills through interaction with peers, as well as to allow for quiet solitude and reflection. Outdoor play is a favorite time of day for the children and occurs year round, limited only by the severity of weather conditions.
