INFANT

Children ages six weeks through one year are enrolled in our INFANT program. Caregivers provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for infants to learn through active exploration and interaction with adults and other children. The caregiver to child ratio is 1:4.

YEARLING

This program is designed to meet the needs of one-year olds by providing excellent individualized care and appropriate activities and materials to promote motor, social, language and cognitive development. The caregiver to child ratio is 1:4.

YOUNG TODDLER AND TODDLER

The diverse developmental needs of two-year olds are met in two separate programs - YOUNG TODDLER AND TODDLER. The children are involved in a variety of stimulating experiences to encourage socialization and independence. Their day is comprised of circle time, art projects, music and movement, and free play time. The teacher to child ratio is 1:5 for Young Toddlers and 1:6 for Toddlers.

PRESCHOOL

In this program, three- and four-year olds develop their motor, social, language and cognitive skills using circle time, blocks, small manipulatives, dramatic play, music and movement, art and free play time. The teacher to child ratio is 1:9.

PRE-K

In the PRE-K program, four- and five- year olds continue to refine their skills as they prepare for kindergarten. The teachers guide and facilitate as art, math, music, science, computers, language arts, and music and movement are incorporated into the curriculum. The teacher to child ratio is 1:10.

K-ENRICHMENT

Designed as an extension to Portsmouth Public Schools' half-day kindergarten, children in the
K-ENRICHMENT program spend the morning or afternoon session here, opposite the kindergarten session they attend. The focus is on strengthening social and critical thinking skills, as well as reinforcing the academic concepts taught in kindergarten.

BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL

We provide a safe, interesting and fun environment for grade school children to come to before and after school. SCHOOL AGE care provides time for homework, as well as recreation, inside and outside.

SUMMER CAMP

Camp Countryside operates in the summer for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. Each week has a specific theme, incorporating art, music, movement, cultures, history, science, teamwork and life skills.
