Countryside Children's Center

At Countryside, we are committed to a balanced learning-through-play environment. We believe that each child is a unique individual who develops at his or her own pace. We are dedicated to the pure enjoyment of childhood and the natural desire to learn and grow.

We care for children starting at six weeks old, offering child care, nursery school and school-age programs.

Our flexibility enables you to design a schedule that fits your needs - ranging from eight hours per week to full-time care. Our personnel are highly qualified, dedicated professionals who have a genuine love for children and the field of early childhood education.

Countryside is licensed by the state Department of Children, Youth and Families. Our curriculum is aligned with the RI Early Learning Standards which outline a comprehensive system of high quality early childhood programs for young children. Developmentally-appropriate curriculum is used to promote learning through play in each of our programs.

Conveniently located on Route 138 in central Portsmouth, our spacious facility was built specifically for child care. The seven classrooms and two outdoor playgrounds are age-divided to provide generous space for multiple gross and fine motor skills activities.
